Thank you for visiting this blog.

I am Ed Baker I have been using, deploying and actively evangelising Microsoft Server and Client operating systems since o5lowWindows 1.0

From that you can deduce two things, I am old and have some stamina.

For the last several years I have been dividing my time between teaching (as a Microsoft Certified Trainer and Microsoft IT Academy Instructor as well as an Open University Lecturer) and consulting with Small businesses using Microsoft products.

I am an MCT Regional Lead for the UK and a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft UK.

I have been an MCP since 1997 and currently hold a number of Microsoft’s premier certifications. In February 2017 I was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award (MVP) for Enterprise Mobility as a recognition of my community work in that field. A great honour.

In other news, I am married, have three grown up children, ride a huge motorcycle, watch and play sports, am an ex-marathon runner (to raise money for my chosen charity – Acorns Children’s Hospice, having suffered the death of one of my children as an infant, I am passionate about the care provided to life limited children) I am a proud and dedicated Freemason.
